It is Africa’s largest hydroelectric dam, built on the Blue Nile River in the Benishangul-Gumuz region of Ethiopia. Construction finished in 2025 with Capacity of 6,450 MW (megawatts). Reservoir: can hold around 74 billion cubic meters of water.
